Founded in 1825 in Pitlochry, in the heart of the Highlands, Edradour has maintained a small-scale approach to whisky making for two centuries, developing an immediately recognisable style. Its rich, full-bodied and deeply malty spirit has a generous texture particularly well suited to maturation in wine casks. With extended ageing, this structure gains depth, developing layers of ripe fruit, spice and chocolate. Aged for 18 years, this expression was matured in Amarone casks, from the renowned Veneto red wine made in part from partially dried grapes. This maturation enhances Edradour’s generous character with concentrated red and dark fruits, cocoa and spices. Extended ageing brings balance and maturity to this intense profile, allowing the richness of the wine casks to complement the natural weight of the spirit.
