DUFFTOWN 34 years 1991 Refill Barrel Decadent Drinks

Founded in 1896 in the heart of Dufftown, Speyside, Dufftown Distillery produces a single malt typically characterised by orchard fruits, malt and a rounded texture. Rarely encountered as an old independently bottled single malt, extended maturation reveals a more complex side of the spirit, combining yellow fruits, wax, honey and delicate herbal notes. Selected by Decadent Drinks as Chapter Thirty Five of Whiskyland, this 1991 vintage Dufftown aged 34 years matured in a Refill Barrel. The restrained influence of the cask allows more than three decades of maturation to take centre stage, revealing ripe and candied fruits, wax, honey and delicate spices. A particularly mature expression of Dufftown in which time, rather than oak, defines the whisky’s character.
