Bommen & Granaten is a round, fruity Barley Wine with a deep brown colour. Far from the style's usual syrupy, heavy profiles, this is an exquisitely balanced affair from brewery De Molen. Its sweet profile, driven by candied fruit (prunes, cherries, grapes) and malted cereals (caramel, almonds, walnuts), is skilfully balanced by a fresh bitterness, resulting in a beer that is pleasant to drink despite its high alcohol content.
