Founded in 2005 in Fife, Daftmill is a family-owned distillery located on a working farm. Its deliberately limited and seasonal production, traditionally carried out around the demands of farm work, has made it one of the most elusive single malts from the Lowlands. Its spirit is known for its finesse, fruitiness and freshness, typically displaying orchard fruits, citrus, honey and cereal notes. Selected by Decadent Drinks as Chapter Thirty Seven of Whiskyland, this 2006 vintage Daftmill aged 20 years offers a particularly mature perspective on this young distillery. Two decades of maturation bring additional depth and texture to its naturally fruity character, transforming fresh fruit into riper, honeyed notes accompanied by wax, vanilla and delicate spices.
