PROFILE : Craigellachie 13 Year Old reveals a fleshy and lively profile, characterized by notes of grain, fresh apple and vanilla. It is distilled in stills cooled by external copper worm tubs and is matured for thirteen years in oak casks.

Nose : fine, precise, clean. The malted barley, citrus fruit (lemon), marzipan and cut grass create fresh, heady tones. A fine hint of medicine and pepper bring out the original character of the nose which is mature but maintains its adolescent side.
Palate : more creamy than the nose suggests, it begins by releasing spices (black pepper, cinnamon, ginger). The mid-palate then unleashes candied fruit and white flowers. There is an invigorating bitterness. It lingers long with malted barley and fresh fruit (melon, kiwi).
Overall : long, soft. This time, it is the spices, more specifically the ginger and cinnamon, that remain in our taste bud’s memory. They gradually develop with new fresh fruit (apple, pear), dried fruit (cashew nuts) and heady florals (lavender, lilac). The retronasal olfaction reveals soft malt and roasted notes. The empty glass oscillates between fresh tobacco and malted barley.
