Far more peated, animal, medicinal and intensely smoky than usual, this release transcends – without distorting it – the so-characteristic style of the single malt produced by the largest distillery on the Isle of Islay. Not to be outdone, and for the sake of harmony, the other ingredients of its aromatic and flavour profile have also raised their game. Malted barley thus pours onto the palate in whole grains, while its fruity register becomes more and more exotic over time. Among other peculiarities, its resemblance to a mezcal is also one of the highlights of the tasting.
