Barley hand-malted by Warminster Maltings, fermentations of seven days or more in open wooden washbacks, a 1,000-liter wash still, a 600-liter spirit still heated over an open fire... since 2015, the Bimber distillery has been producing a resolutely artisanal whisky in a former West London garage. Remarkably balanced and concentrated, this version features altruistic peat whose ashy, oily and animal tones melt into an oriental-tinged floral and fruity backdrop.

Color : Antique gold.

Nose : Fine and heady. A bouquet of dried flowers, ashes, damp earth or even tiger balm, this is what the very elegant first nose offers. On aeration, candied oranges, Russian leather, rose petals and incense add a touch of the Orient.

Palate : Racy, noble. On the palate, fine notes of heather honey, fig and raisin underline the fine influence of muscatel wine. Underlying, a more oily peat serves as an empyreumatic base (tar, pellets) for the finish.

Overall : Dense, deep. Spicy and medicinal, the initial finish gradually gives way to sweet notes of coconut milk. Animal (viande des grisons), saline and camphorated, the aftertaste is impressively long.
