Created at the beginning of the 20th century by the Barbieri brothers, Aperol quickly become a popular aperitif in Italy; but it was not until 1950, with the invention of the ‘Spritz’ cocktail (4cl Aperol, 6cl Prosecco and a dash of soda), that it became really famous.
