FEW

Despite the end of Prohibition in 1933, many American states and towns remained dry, with communities in which the consumption of alcoholic beverages was strictly prohibited. Evanston, Illinois, the headquarters of the Temperance movement, only lifted this prohibition in 1972. It was not until 2008 that the first grain spirit distillery opened in Evanston: Few Spirits. The name of this craft distillery bears the initials of Frances Elizabeth Willard, the leader of the Temperance movement who defended the values of Prohibition. FEW also refers to the distillery’s low production capacity.
