Sourcing its water from the neighbouring Romach hills, this single malt is the result of a blend of bourbon and sherry casks. The blend then rests for twelve months in oloroso sherry casks, of which only Gordon & MacPhail know the secret. A peated version worthy of a southern Islay.

Nose : precise, with no concessions, characterised by notes of cedar and smoke. A citrus note emerges from the glass, rapidly followed by spicy, bacon notes. Almond milk.

Palate : just as uncompromising as the nose. Generous peaty flavours which evolve with notes of burnt wood, ashes and chimney smoke. Smoked fish, a hint of liquorice.

Overall : lingering peatiness, but in a much more medicinal register, with notes of cardamom and eucalyptus. Returns to tar, macadam and dried fish.
