BUNNAHABHAIN 12 ans Cask Strength Release 2

Bunnahabhain presents this limited edition of the 12 Year Old, of which a new version is presented every year. Bottling the 12 Year Old in cask strengthens the essential characteristics of the spices but not at the expense of its character. The mouthfeel and texture of the whisky are powerful and emphasize the balance of alcohol and wood, but in a more concentrated form. It is the true embodiment in bottle of Bunnahabhain. With Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Cask Strength, we hand select the casks that make up the batch, based on cask type and profile. We choose from a selection of first and second fill Oloroso casks and balance with a small percentage of bourbon. Because this product is cask strength, the alcohol content will naturally vary - in 2021 the alcohol content was 55.1% compared to this year's version which is 56.6%. With a higher alcohol content, some of the flavors seem to be more intense and concentrated - as the alcohol content decreases, the myriad of flavors come through more readily.
