Description
Port Charlotte 2013 PMC.01 is the first reference in the Cask Exploration series to be aged in Pomerol barrels. Pomerol is home to some of the world's most coveted red wines, as well as one of Bordeaux's most niche appellations. These casks highlight the influence of oak on our whisky, with notes of blackberries, plums and old leather.
Tasting notes
Nose : Smoky notes of peat and red fruits, giving way to pear and melon, followed by floral notes of rose, geranium with a hint of vanilla.
Palate : The greediness of the malt and the smokiness of the peat counterbalance the fruity and woody notes of the Pomerol cask.
Overall : Sweet iodine notes with a hint of lemon zest.
