Renowned for its whisky, Mars created the new Tsunuki distillery in 2016 to launch not only a new whisky but also a gin, Wa Bi gin, "Wa Bi" meaning "Japanese beauty."
Both rooted in its time and traditions, the distillery uses 9 Japanese botanicals produced locally in Kagoshima out of the 11 botanicals used in total, including Yuzu or Japanese pepper. Only juniper and coriander do not come from the prefecture.
The 11 botanicals are separated into two groups and distilled separately. As well as being used in the maceration process, juniper is also present in baskets suspended in the still to infuse the vapors with juniper.
The result is an expressive, highly fruity gin, perfect for any occasion.

Nose : Citrus explosion with yuzu, lemon and kumquat. On aeration, juniper becomes more present, while offering the freshness of citrus fruit.

Appearance : Cristallin

Palate : The structure is again pleasantly citrusy, but the juniper takes up much space on the palate. The appearance of ginger gives it a spicier dimension.

Overall : Slightly bitter, with hints of Kabuse tea.
