Nose : Rich, powerful. On the first nose, empyreumatic fragrances (sleet, oil) and thick smoke fill the air. Allowed to breathe, the palette of aromas becomes more medicinal (mustard seed) with deep malt and chocolate.

Appearance : Or pâle.

Palate : Energetic, distinguished. Unlike the nose, the attack is more ethereal, with smoky malted barley taking the peat’s place. The mid-palate then ventures into delicious vanilla, fruity (pear) and herbal lands.

Overall : Long, delicate. Fine liquorice first coats the edge of the palate, while lemon zest adds a tangy aspect to the flavour palette. It then finishes on luscious (barley field), balsamic and gently spiced (cumin, star anise) notes.
