HAMPDEN 6 ans 2010 Blend - 60 ans LMDW Habitation Velier

Nose : rich, unctuous. Particularly oxidative, the initial nose is characterised by notes of fermenting apple juice. Upon airing, spices and peppers (Cayenne) mingle with Bourbon vanilla and almonds. It then becomes progressively more herbaceous (tobacco, gentian), floral (iris) and resinous (cedar, pine)._x000D_

Palate : full-bodied, circular. Heady florals surround an attack on the palate that is firm and assertive, piercing deep into the deepest core of the gustatory palette. Noble notes of tobacco, ground spices, cocoa and aromatic herbs (lime blossom, vervain) enrich a rich and complex mid-palate. It then becomes rooty (gentian, ginger) and almost earthy. The back of the palate is exotic and heady (geranium, hyacinth)._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_

Overall : long, intensified. It immediately unveils its warm, slightly saline nature, boasting a prominent luscious and incorrigibly vibrant side. Cyclamen, bougainvillea and geranium blossoms literally perfume the finish. The retronasal olfaction retains this floral impression long afterwards, before taking a turn for the fruitier (mango, apricot). The empty glass is a true ode to sugar cane.
