CHICHIBU 10 ans 2014 Single Cask Japanese Single Malt Elixir Distillers

Founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, Chichibu was the first distillery to open in Japan since 1973. Staying true to artisanal production with its own cooperage and a limited capacity of 90,000 litres per year, it produces extremely rare bottlings. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025, this single cask (No. 11044) benefited from a carefully planned IPA finish. Only 240 bottles are available worldwide. The whisky reveals aromas of honey, lemon herbal tea, buttery popcorn, ginger, and eucalyptus. The palate is rich and fruity with notes of banana, pineapple, apricot, orange blossom, and honey, while the lightly hoppy finish quickly evolves towards the indulgence of fruit candy.
