The Château de Léberon Solera 2001 is crafted from 60% Ugni Blanc, 20% Baco, and 20% Colombard. This Armagnac from the Ténarèze region stands out for its innovative approach, inspired by Sherry producers. It is aged using the Solera method in a 55-hectolitre cask that has never been fully emptied since 2001. Each year, about 10% of the volume is drawn off and replenished with Armagnacs that are three years old.
Nose : Smooth and well-balanced, it first reveals a layer of gently sweet dried fruits. Gradually, the fruity notes blend with creamy caramel, forming a warm and indulgent harmony.
Palate : On the palate, it echoes those dried fruit and caramel notes, enhanced by a pleasant woodiness. Stewed fruits, particularly quince and apricot, then emerge with depth and generosity.
Overall : The finish, dominated by woody tones, unfolds notes of varnish, milk caramel, and, of course, dried fruits, offering an elegant and lingering aftertaste.
