BUNNAHABHAIN MOINE 11 ans 2007 COLLECTIVE 2.0

Nose : unctuous, almost rich. The initial nose reveals a mellow, slightly camphoric and vegetal (lichen) peat. Allowed to breathe, it becomes gently medicinal (tiger balm) and above all very fruity (white grape). Right at this moment, we are offered a luscious, bucolic landscape. Next, the medicinal and oily character of the peat, accompanied by smoke, increases in power.

Palate : tender, velvety. Immediately, a chocolatey, salty, smoky and fruity (apple) peat seizes the palate. It gently stretches out with notes of forest floor (mushroom), parsley and cucumber. A veil of smoke, behind which we glimpse lichee and raspberry, fills the end of the palate. The flavour palette is a very successful combination of ashy notes and fruity freshness.

Overall : long, rich. Peat has definitively taken the lead, occupying every crack of the palate. The fragrances of a rich, chocolate and spicy Havana cigar float in the air. It even becomes more medicinal (leather, bacon, smoked fish) and salty. The retronasal olfaction makes the most of a few vanilla pods and some juicy oranges. The empty glass is undeniably ashy and gamey.
