"The soldiers of the Scottish Highland and Lowland regiments, nicknamed the "Jocks", were renowned for their strength and courage in battle. Highland Jock reflects the strength and character of these men. With its deep, intense red colour, it has all the hallmarks of a true Scotch Ale: rich, malty, slightly smoky (roasted barley) and spicy (hints of cinnamon), with notes of fruit (tangerine, orange), toffee and caramel. A lovely variation on the Old Jock, to be enjoyed as a pair to better understand the complexity and possible variations of Scotch ales. Pairings: Panettone with candied fruit, Dates.
