Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, who ran the Buffalo Trace distillery between 1921 and 1953, gave his name to the most emblematic of American single barrel bourbons, launched in 1984. Only casks aged in cellar H, which is highly exposed to seasonal temperature changes, can claim the famous bottle with the cork surmounted by a horseman. Bottled 'straight from the barrel', this version has a great depth of flavour, highlighting not only its main cereal, maize, but also malted barley and rye. On the palate, it emancipates itself somewhat from these cereal notes to give us a better appreciation of the impressive diversity of its fruity range. A magnificent wine.
