AMRUT 8 ans 2016 Triple Distilled Bourbon Barrel Itinéraires

Nose : Rich and full-bodied. With notes of vanilla, herbs (cut hay), sweet treats (marshmallow), fruit (passion fruit, mirabelle plum), flowers (violet) and liquorice (zan), the aromatic palette is both fresh and heady. When aerated, aromas of candy sugar and malted barley coexist with fermented notes of porridge and beer flower.

Appearance : vieil or soutenu

Palate : Full-bodied and refined. Richly fruity (pineapple, passion fruit, banana, mirabelle plum, Williams pear), the flavour profile is underpinned by particularly smooth notes of gentian root, fresh ginger and barley grain. Enlivened by a few citrus zests (lemon, grapefruit), it becomes, over time, more malty, herbaceous and infused (chamomile).

Overall : Dense and fluffy. Venturing into the world of rums (cane sugar), it quickly returns to malted territory (mash and barley grain). Rustic (dandelion), milky (coconut) and honeyed (lavender), the retro-olfaction echoes the vanilla and fruity notes of the nose. Intense, the empty glass is camphorated, resinous and heady (dried flowers).
