Amrut Peated Cask Strength is the latest expression to join the classic range. It takes the ranges new bottle shape, recognizable by its slimmer silhouette and its label inspired by the ornaments of an Indian palace.
Offered in a cask strength version of the Amrut Peated, this Indian single malt boasts a personality with intense notes of smoke but also exotic fruits. It is made from Scottish barley, malted and dried with peat fire from Islay before ageing in Bangalore, India before being bottled there with neither chill filtering nor reduction.
Slightly Peated
Nose : Spicy and smoky, with freshly milled grain and peat paired with black pepper and lime.
Palate : Fresh and zingy with sweet peat smoke balanced against raisins and gentle spice. At the end, the dry oak wood reveals itself.
Overall : Long and complex. The richness of Mysore's coffee becomes dark and smoky before liquorice and molasses from the Bourbon barrels used are revealed.
