Tasting note
- Appearance : noire à reflet cuivré
- Nose : dense. Tres peu de fruit si ce n’est le citron, pomme à cidre. Notes de marc de café.
- Palate : pétillante, sur le café noir et le zan. Pain grillé, note lardée revient en force sur le café expresso. Très peu d’amertume.
- Overall : plutôt courte sur le marc de café.

The brand
The Williams brothers, Scott and Bruce, began their career as brewers in the late 80s when they founded the Heather Ale Company. They started making a beer called Fraoch at their micro-brewery in Glasgow, according to a very old Gaelic recipe. In order to meet demand, they soon took their recipe to the West Highland Brewery in Argyll, and then to the historic Maclay’s brewery in Alloa. More recently, in the early 2000s, they bought the Forth Brewery east of Stirling and decided to rename their company the Williams Brothers Brewing Company/Heather Ale Ltd.
