Produced from wild elderberry flowers hand-picked when they bloom at the end of spring in the French Alps, St-Germain is the creation of American distiller Robert Cooper. Present from beginning to end, the elderflower plays much more than just an opening
- Appearance : yellow with green hues.
- Nose : Refined, elegant. Particularly fruity (mango, passion fruit), it evolves with citrus fruit (pink grapefruit), spearmint and lime. Next the leading actress takes the stage: elderflower accompanied by red fruits (blueberry, wild strawberry).
- Palate : Deliciously unctuous. This time elderflower takes the forefront. Citrus fruit (lemon) and exotic fruit (pineapple, lychee) are found in the background. Each flavour then becomes more syrupy. It persists with notes of dark chocolate and juicy orange.
- Overall : Long, reminiscent of other liqueurs (vine peach, crème de cassis). Next, heady florals (peony, lavender) are followed by notes of hazelnut, coconut milk and passion fruit. Intense, the empty glass is a subtle mix of white-fleshed fruits (peach, pear) and
