Character
Tasting
Nose : rich, heady. Strong spices (cloves, nutmeg) and chillies give the initial nose plenty of density and firmness. Once aerated, it is particularly mineral. Its perfect maturity can also by tasted in its notes of straw and curry. These are accompanied by exotic fruit (pineapple, banana), and fresh fruit (apple, damsons). Little by little, orange blossom, dark chocolate and liquorice sweets are covered with vervain.
Palate : lively, vigorous. Its punchy attack has an upbeat tempo where notes of ivy, bay leaf, star anise, lime blossom, peppermint and peachy apricot follow one after the other. With perfect timing, the mid-palate fills the mouth with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and fresh fig. This metamorphosis takes place very smoothly.
Overall : smooth, creamy. Chocolate dessert, red and dark fruit tart, fresh tobacco and heady florals (carnation, rose, peony) make up this highly complex finish. It also evokes certain eaux-de-vie (William Pear, Mirabelle plum, raspberry). The retro-olfaction has a very soft, almost infused, herbaceous note. The empty glass is characterised by notes of marzipan and tiger balm
