RhumRhum is the only rum in the world made with pure fresh sugar cane juice. The latter is fermented in temperature-controlled vats at 20/22°C for seven to nine days. RhumRhum is left to rest for a year in stainless steel vats before bottling. The ultimate expression of pure sugar cane juice, RhumRhum PMG Rhum Agricole Blanc is perhaps the best white rum in the world.
The fruit of a project dreamed up by Gianni Vittorio Capovilla, the famous distiller of Italian fruit brandies, and Luca Gargano, the director of an independent importer and bottler specialising in rum, RhumRhum PMG Rhum Agricole Blanc is the ultimate expression of pure sugar cane juice! Fermented and distilled like no other rum, it is an exceptional spirit. An island with a sugar-producing past, Marie-Galante has managed to preserve varieties of sugar cane that had once disappeared. Among the most widespread is the “B.47.258” red sugar cane that dates from 1947. Harvested by hand and still transported in ox-wagons, they are the source of RhumRhum’s complex bouquet.

- Nose : full-bodied, ethereal. The sugar cane is expressed with tremendous delicacy. This is a rum that presents its aromatic palette with pride. Its aromas of white fruit (peaches, pears), red fruit (raspberries, cherries in brandy), exotic fruit (pineapple, passion fruit) and tertiary notes (light tar, leather, tobacco) of dried fish, hay and fresh ginger are captivating and sensual.
- Palate : rich, generous. The fruity, stone-fruit notes are reminiscent of a Fougerolles kirsch. A few spices (star anise, cloves, cinnamon) emerge in the mid-palate. This evolves towards citrus fruit (grapefruit, bergamot) and white flowers (lilac, lily of the valley). Vanilla flavours, oscillating between marzipan and dried fruit (pistachio, almonds).
- Overall : long, smooth. The fruit becomes candied, with some even becoming jammy (cherries, strawberries). The heady scents of geranium and rose petal flavours are coated with mineral notes (pencil lead, petrol). The empty glass exudes apricot pits and star anise.
- The brand
In 2004, Luca Gargano took Gianni Capovilla to Marie-Galante to convince him to produce “the best agricultural rum in the world”. An undisputed master of eau de vie, Gianni Capovilla accepted the challenge and installed a still in the Bielle distillery in 2005 and the Rhumrhum company was born. A second still was installed in 2007. In 2008, the first bottle of Rhumrhum PMG Rhum Agricole Blanc was put on the market. From its past as a sugar-producing island, Marie-Galante grows varieties of cane that had once disappeared, which is used to produce Rhumrhum.
