RHUM RHUM 2010 Liberation 2015 - 60th Anniversary LMDW 60,6%
Rhum Agricole, France / Marie Galante, 70cl, Ref: 52144
Bottled at natural strength, this single cask was selected by Luca Gargano and Gianni Capovilla to celebrate the 60th anniversary of La Maison du Whisky. With a refined classicism in which there is no place for the superfluous, this Rhum Rhum Liberation writes the words: delicate, elegant, refined, silky, light, complex, poetic and dreamlike in gold letters on the frontispiece of the door leading to its aromatic palette whose alleys are strewn with sprays of richly scented flowers.
Profile: Dense, first of all the nose oscillates between the citrus fruit, candied fruit and sugar cane. Exotic (passion), spicy (cinnamon) and floral. With elegance, the palate is consistent with the nose. Notes of red fruits, heady flowers and cane juice.

- Appearance : copper orange with glints of burnished gold.
- Nose : dense, concentrated. On the first nose, hints of sugar cane are subtly framed by oranges and candied apricots with delicate woody notes. Becoming more exotic (passion fruit, pineapple), upon airing it also presents a spicy aroma (pepper, cinnamon, clove), and vanilla and floral notes (tuberose, honeysuckle). The more it develops, the more it gains in richness and complexity.
- Palate : full-bodied, elegant. In perfect continuity with the notes found on the nose, it takes over a large part of the aromatic palette adding rose petals, lime blossom honey, quince jelly and even wild strawberries. Progressively, the sugar cane notes intensify. The released cane juice is delicately perfumed (sandalwood) and sweet. Saffron and cardamom are among the spices revealed in the finish.
- Overall : light, sophisticated. It reveals with great mellowness on the palate a mix of heady floral fragrances (rose, iris, lily). Then, juicy citrus fruits (mandarin, orange) and mangoes add an exotic dreamy dimension. The finish develops undeniably with passion and pride. Chocolate, roasted (tobacco) and fruity notes (Golden apple, quince) in the finish. The empty glass is warmly spiced (nutmeg, clove).
- The brand
In 2004, Luca Gargano took Gianni Capovilla to Marie-Galante to convince him to produce “the best agricultural rum in the world”. An undisputed master of eau de vie, Gianni Capovilla accepted the challenge and installed a still in the Bielle distillery in 2005 and the Rhumrhum company was born. A second still was installed in 2007. In 2008, the first bottle of Rhumrhum PMG Rhum Agricole Blanc was put on the market. From its past as a sugar-producing island, Marie-Galante grows varieties of cane that had once disappeared, which is used to produce Rhumrhum.
