R.L.SEALE 10 YEAR OLD Golden Rum 43%
Rhum De Melasse, , 70cl, Ref: 2792
The oldest blends produced by R.L. Seale are bottled under their name in special bottles, while the vintage single cask rums carry the name of the Foursquare distillery A blend of barrels that are at least ten-years-old, this version transcends the “golden rum” style usually found in much younger rums.
- Appearance : orangey copper with glints of green.
- Nose : refined, smooth. Evokes both a sweet wine (with apricots, beeswax, and lavender honey) and a well-aged bourbon (with vanilla, cardamom, and moss). While they are a little abrupt, the charred notes are perfectly integrated into the spirit. Evolves with spices (cinnamon) and toffee.
- Palate : sweet yet tangy, juicy oranges and vine peaches bring great smoothness to this still young, intense spirit. Flowers (hyacinths, roses, honeysuckle) and spices (cardamom, pepper, cinnamon) are interwoven to such an extent that the rose becomes peppery. Slightly smoky, it reveals an exotic side (banana, mango and guava).
- Overall : long, rich. Milk chocolate and sweet spices (cumin, coriander) mingle with spearmint and lime. The grainy texture is reminiscent of vine peaches. The empty glass presents notes of undergrowth, pipe tobacco and green olives.
