Penny Blue is a Single Estate XO rum from Mauritius. Its name refers to the rarest stamp in the world. Born from a blend of the finest eaux-de-vie of the Medine distillery, it has aged in barrels containing cognac and whiskey. To make this batch n°7, Doug McIvor, whisky expert of Berry Bros & Rudd and Jean-François Koenig, master distiller of the Médine distillery have selected the most mature and balanced casks. Located in the heart of a 3,300 hectare sugarcane plantation, the Médine distillery has been producing rum since 1926, making it the oldest distillery in operation in Mauritius.
