PANAMA 15 ans Coffret 2 Verres TCRL 40%

Rum, Panama, 70cl, Ref: 55318

Distilled in a column still, this version has been aged for 15 years in a tropical climate using the solera system, before continuing its maturation for almost one year in a continental climate. Particularly expressive, the initial nose immediately sets the tone for a tasting whose golden rule is harmony. A succession of strong emotions and more peaceful sequences, the palette of flavours and aromas is also exuberant, medicinal, heady and even exotic when required.

Profile: the unctuous initial nose is characterized by coconut, apricot and candied orange. Floral (hyacinth), it becomes honeyed, spicy and milky (almond) once allowed to breathe. The silky attack is fruity (orange), vanilla and also spicy (ginger). The mid-palate is heady (tuberose) and exotic (guava). The rich finish wavers between tobacco, florals and spice. With lots of exoticism, the mouthfeel gradually becomes powdery (cocoa). Limited edition of 1,083 bottles. Exclusive to LMDW.

Product details

Tasting note

  • Appearance : burnished gold with glints of copper.
  • Nose : warm, smooth. On the initial nose, coconut, dried apricot and candied orange accompany vanilla/bourbon and heady florals (hyacinth, rose). Allowed to breathe, the nose becomes honeyed (heather), spicy (cinnamon) and milky (cane juice, almond). The very compact aromatic palette gives a pleasant sensation of fullness. Notes of honeysuckle, mango and artichoke heart suddenly arrive.
  • Palate : well-balanced, silky. Following in the nose's footsteps, the palate is fruity (orange), vanilla, creamy and spicy (ginger). Gradually, heady tuberose flavours flood the palate, remaining for a long time. The exotic (persimmon, guava) end of the palate is also slightly earthy and medicinal (camphor). The appearance of assorted jams (apricot, quince, apple) gradually makes for a very unctuous palette of flavours.
  • Overall : long, rich. Vegetal (tobacco leaf), floral (lilac, peony) and spicy (saffron, turmeric), the start of the finish is very dense. Then, increasingly exotic (banana, mango), it takes on a powdery texture (cocoa, oak). The retronasal olfaction reveals a bouquet of heady flowers (freesia, geranium, vetiver, iris butter). The empty glass is then more tertiary (forest floor, chestnut, sweet chestnut, lichen).

Merchant

Artist, Lands of Scotland, Malt Pedigree, Tartan, The Ten, Very Cloudy... all of these whisky ranges – composed of single malts and single grains – have one thing in common: they were all created by the team at La Maison du Whisky. They are the fruits of many decades of close collaboration with some of the most prestigious bottlers in Scotland. For some years the French importer and exclusive distributor of the classic ranges of well-known spirits producers, La Maison du Whisky was soon granted the very rare privilege of being able to complement these ranges with their own, bringing together two sets of expertise, two reputations and two complementary histories under one, single label.

The line
