Description
Tasting notes
Nose : fine, subtle. Orange appears in all of its forms here: sweet, bloody, tart (bergamot), marmalade and zest. Boasting something of a menthol aspect, it develops into herbs (verbena, sage), lime and cut hay.
Appearance : a vibrant golden yellow.
Palate : round, firm. Only slightly sweet, it initially feels milky and candied (orange). The whisky now has the upper hand. It develops spiced (nutmeg, ginger), malted barley and refreshingly bitter aromas.
Overall : long, precise. It makes a return to herbs (fennel, verbena), mint and spices (coriander) before shifting towards tropical (passion fruit, kiwi, banana) and fruity (Williams pear) notes. Malted barley serves as a final hallmark.
