OLD PULTENEY 13 ans 2010 Single Cask sherry

Located in the extreme North-East of Scotland, established on the port of Wick since 1826, the Pulteney distillery founded its history thanks to the maritime trade. The conditions of ageing due to its proximity to the sea bring to the whisky a particularly salty and iodized character.
This seemingly powerful single cask has spent its entire 13 years of ageing in a first fill Oloroso Sherry cask. It has intense notes of nuts, chocolate, honey and spices, followed by the distillery's usual salty character.
The impressive 64.2% stamped on the label seems much less when tasted, as the whisky is so smooth.
