Description
Tasting notes
Nose : full-bodied, complex. Beeswax, emery cloth, dried apricot, corinthian raisin, gooseberry, wild peach, nutmeg and cumin are just some of the aromas revealed on the incredibly rich initial nose. Allowed to breathe, candied ginger, bitter orange, verbena, leather, raspberry, Mirabelle plum and fleur-de-lis govern an equally rich secondary sequence of aromas. The magnificently well-integrated sherry contemplates the aromatic palette.
Appearance : copper with glints of green.
Palate : rich, silky. Combining chocolate, praline and coffee, the attack has a very delicate mouthfeel. On the mid-palate, iris butter, very ripe banana, dried flowers, rose honey and cherry jam further highlight the feeling of fullness found in the palette of flavours. The end of the palate sticks to the subject, revealing notes of tobacco, ginger and exotic fruits (pineapple, yellow kiwi). Note that the palate is forming an increasingly compact and mineral unit.
Overall : long, silky. At the start of the finish, coconut milk fills the palate. It brings with it almond, walnut, imperial mandarin, acacia honey, white mint and coffee beans. Slightly tannic, the very end of the finish reveals saffron, florals (lily), praline and powdery notes (rice pudding, cocoa bean). The empty glass is heady (lavender, peony), malty and slightly ashy.
