MONKEY SHOULDER Coffret Shaker 40%
Blended Malt, Scotland / Speyside, 70cl, Ref: 50055
The “maltmen” who used to turn the barley with a shovel were constantly exposed to currents of air that would sometimes lead to serious rheumatism. This malting illness was known as “monkey shoulder”. It was as a tribute to these maltmen that the Grant family, owners of the emblematic Glenfiddich distillery, created this “triple malt” produced from a blend of three single malts (Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie) which boasts aromas of honey, cinnamon and vanilla. This gift set includes a shaker for you to make your own Monkey Shoulder cocktails.
- Appearance : amber.
- Nose : Unctuous, balanced. Honeyed, herbaceous (green malt, cut hay) and delicately perfumed (rose water), it evolves with spice (ginger), liquorice and red fruit (blackberry, raspberry).
- Palate : refined, fruity. Characterised by dried walnut and sweet spice (cinnamon). It lingers with vanilla, liquorice and creamy notes (custard).
- Overall : long, generous. Both fruity (mirabelle plums) and floral (lavender), it develops with notes of chocolate and Chelsea buns.
