Moins connu que Yoichi dans ce registre, Miyagikyo produit parfois du whisky légèrement tourbé. C'est le cas de ce 1999 vieilli treize ans en recharred hogshead, un fût déjà utilisé dont l'intérieur a été brûlé pour lui donner une seconde vie. La tourbe de ce Miyagikyo est discrète, accompagnant les agrumes, la cire d'abeille et un boisé chaleureux et légèrement épicé.
Profil : minéral (craie, mine de crayon). Tourbe herbacée et médicinale (baume). Pamplemousse, citron. Notes laiteuses (amande) et florales (lys, chèvrefeuille).

The brand
The distillery produces a full palette of malts that enables the group’s master blender to carry out his art: sherry & sweet, woody & vanillic, fruity & estery. The aim is to produce different profiles of single malts - peated or unpeated, extremely fruity to extremely peaty - using a wide variety of yeasts. To further enhance this effect, long fermentations are carried out before distillation. The whisky is then placed in ex-sherry or ex-bourbon casks, or even into new American oak casks. Find out more
