All about making whisky
Distiller’s Choice is aged in 3 types of casks including, American oak, ex-sherry and European oak casks.
Founded in 1894 by John Duff, Longmorn is a Speyside Scotch single malt with a unique depth and intensity. The distillery is famous for operating large pot stills allowing the spirit to have a greater contact with the copper still during distillation. This process often called the “kiss of the copper”, convey all the benefits of the local source water.
Although Longmorn does not enjoy the same “touristic renown” as its counterpart Strathisla, the quality of its malt whisky makes up for this. Both are owned by Pernod Ricard and are essential components in the Chivas blend, although Longmorn has a more unique and naturally fruity, gourmet character, which lends itself to bourbon or sherry cask ageing.
