LONG POND 18 ans 2004 Edition No.17 Rum Sponge D.D.

For Edition 17 of Rum Sponge we return to Jamaica with our first bottling of Long Pond. A sharp and funky example with trebly esters, pineapple and medicines along with some saltier seawater vibes too. We reduced this one from its eye-watering natural strength to a more balanced 60% bottling strength in order to magnify its fruitier flavours.

Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other fine spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. His philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side can be seen both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings with this sponge character in a wide variety of styles.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice and Equilibrium. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.
