Description
Tasting notes
Nose : at 48%, it seems quite mild, maybe even sweet. Notes of raisins and juicy apricots appear before a hint of peat smoke, followed by hazelnuts. A drop of water helps reinforce the smoky notes. Even after many years in first-fill bourbon casks and sherry quarter casks, the smoky notes retain all their strength.
Appearance : shimmering gold.
Palate : powerful and creamy. The peat is more powerful than in the bouquet, but maintains its balance with vanilla and fruit notes and a hint of sherry. A few drops of water bring out the citrus and spice notes. The European oak casks have left a light trace of bitterness which marries well with more creamy notes from the American oak casks.
Overall : long and rich, but also very balanced.
