KILCHOMAN Casado

This Kilchoman limited edition , called Casado or marriage in Portuguese, was aged in ex-bourbon casks for 6 years before 38 casks were carefully selected, blended and further aged for 2 years in two 6,000 liter Portuguese red wine vats. The two years spent in these red wine vats add a beautiful aromatic complexity around red fruits and spices, which balances and harmonizes perfectly with the maritime peat smoke. Only casks of less than 700 liters are taken into account for the age count, so the two years spent in the red wine vats are considered a marriage period... hence the name Casado!
