The first rye produced in the State of New York since the days of the Prohibition, Hudson is unique in that it is aged in very small barrels for a very short period of time. The result is a woody, high quality whiskey, an outstanding fruity taste and a ripe maturity that, once the glass is empty, reveals notes of pipe tobacco and liquorice. A great way to re-examine the world of American Whiskey and to challenge any preconceived ideas.
- Nose : Fin, élégant. Les fruits secs (figue, abricot) occupent le devant de la scène. Une fine couche de caramel enrobe ensuite des arômes de chocolat et de cuir. Des notes de cardamome, de menthe et de thym lui procurent beaucoup de fraîcheur.
- Palate : Vive, aérienne. Si la vanille est présente au tout début, rapidement, des vagues de poivre noir et de clou de girofle roulent sur la langue. Quand elle retrouve calme et sérénité, elle dévoile alors de juteuses notes de mirabelle et de reine-claude.
- Overall : Longue, délicate. Les épices sont désormais plus douces (cannelle). Évoluée, elle est marquée par des notes de sous-bois (champignons). Luxueusement boisée, elle se prolonge sur le caramel au beurre salé et les fruits noirs (myrtille).
