Our Original Single Malt Whisky, aged in American Oak (ex-bourbon) finished in French Oak (ex-pinot noir) to provide a tantalising point of difference for single malt lovers. Imaginative and unique, this delightful spirit evokes all the complexities of a Tasmanian rainforest. Judged a Global Whisky Master and one of the World’s Ten Best Value Whiskies in 2015 (United Kingdom).
Profile: The nose is immediately drawn to crisp summer citrus, lemon and orange that obediently withdraws on the palate to manifest a sweet, gentle layer of pepper and spice – a persuasion of the red wine cameo. Burnt blackberry sauce lingers in the aftertaste foreclosing a treasured confusion of the senses.

- Appearance : intense gold with topaz hues.
- Nose : full-bodied, unusual. A woody finish envelops notes of marzipan and black grape. It then becomes vanilla and floral (lily, hyacinth) before descending into a liquorice and lightly peated soil. Rose honey sprinkled with petals gives great distinction and fullness.
- Palate : firm, confident. It has its feet on the ground and its head in spices (pepper, curry, cinnamon). Remarkable woody finesse. Bourbon vanilla, parsley and dill create a mid-palate full of freshness. Gradually its textures gains in creaminess, with walnut and ripe grapes bearing witness.
- Overall : long, balanced. An éclair with vanilla instead of chocolate. Ginger root and nutmeg confirm its spicy nature, whilst bunches of Pinot Noir grapes ripen in the sun. Faded roses and peonies delicately perfume the earthy, saline retronasal olfaction. The empty glass gives off honey and vanilla.

Hellyers Road a été fondée en 1997 sur l'île verdoyante de Tasmanie. La distillerie doit son existence à la passion commune pour le whisky entre le propriétaire d'une coopérative laitière et un distillateur professionnel. Ensemble ils décident de créer un nouveau lait, celui-ci est malté ! Le nom de la distillerie rend hommage à son tout premier explorateur, Henry Hellyer, qui fut le premier Européen à fouler les terres de ce territoire sauvage. De la détermination de cet homme est née la toute première route construite à travers la brousse - celle même qui relie actuellement la distillerie. Sans nul doute, les whiskies exceptionnels d’Hellyers Road ont hérité de la persévérance de son tout premier pionnier ! Distillé pour la première fois en 1999, le whisky doit son caractère à une parfaite maîtrise de la maturation en fûts.
The largest micro-distillery in Australia (producing 100,000 litres per year), Hellyers Road was founded in 1997. Located on the island of Tasmania, which is known more for its wines, salmon and lush green landscapes, the distillery owes its existence to a passion for whisky shared by the owner of a milk cooperative and a professional distiller: together they decided to create a new “milk”, which was malted and in a rather more Scottish style! Distilled for the first time in 1999, the quality of the whisky was quickly appreciated by connoisseurs, and is now one of the islands best exports, and among Australia’s most well-known whiskies.
