Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Highlands, 70cl, Ref: 14590A
Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or is a rich and spicy whiskey with a unique finish in Sauternes casks. Bill Lumsden was one of the pioneers in the use of barrels of wine in the maturation of his whiskeys, especially with this edition that brilliantly bears his name.
This legendary edition of the Glenmorangie range renews its packaging in 2019 to highlight the special know-how of the Sauternes cask finish
- Appearance : old gold with glints of topaz.
- Nose : ripe, fleshy notes of pineapple, banana and candied apricot are tempered by soft bitterness from the oak, followed by a touch of warming cinnamon and curry powder.
- Palate : sweet and silky, with freshly baked bread, roasted coffee, cinnamon, toffee and peppermint.
- Overall : oily and fragrant. Beeswax, lemon and passionfruit rounded off with soft bitterness.
- The brand
The Glenmorangie distillery has, since 1843, produced its famous single malt in the north of the Highlands. It owns the tallest stills in Scotland, a legacy of the gin stills installed when it first began. A pioneer of maturation in ex-bourbon casks in the 1960s, Glenmorangie also began experimenting with different finishes very early on thanks to the help and great skill of the famous nose, Dr Bill Lumsden. Its series of finishes aim to marry the finesse of this single malt with the flavours and tannins of different wines during a second maturation that lasts around two years. Find out more
