GLENDRONACH 25 ans 1990 Pedro Ximenez Batch 12

Single Malt, Scotland / Speyside, 70cl, Ref: 19981

Aged in a Pedro Ximenez cask (no. 706), Glendronach 1972 is a 43 year old single malt that unfolds with elegance and spice. On the nose it is characterised by plum, dark chocolate, notes of tobacco and a hint of clove oil. The palate is gourmand with dried spiced fruitcake and candied orange peel. The notes of tobacco found on the nose resurface on the palate, this time stronger. The finish is strong and seems to last forever. Bottled at 51.10%, non-chill filtered

The brand

Glendronach means “valley of the brambles” in Gaelic. Located near the town of Huntley in the east of Speyside, this distillery uses traditional production methods (malting that includes partial use of a peat-fired kiln and stills heated by ‘direct firing’), which largely explains its powerful character and the strong personality of its single malt. It is always a very rich malt, with this demonstrated best in its sherry cask bottlings which reveal a perfect balance of sherry, malted barley and (red) fruit notes. Find out more
