GLEN GARIOCH 21 ans 1993 D.Laing 57,7%

Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Highlands, 70cl, Ref: 19883

Cameronbridge 1990 25 Year Old is a single grain whisky aged in a single second-fill butt. Bottled at 60.3% without chill filtration or added colouring, it is a round and slightly spicy whisky marked by notes of maize, smoked meat and bacon on the nose. Vanilla and honey accompany notes of camphor on the palate. The finish is spicy. This expression inaugurates the selection of single grain whiskies in the Old Particular range from independent bottlers Douglas Laing & Co.

The brand

Maintaining its image as a small-batch distillery, Glen Garioch caused a stir in September 2009 by launching a new version of its single malt: the Glen Garioch 1797 Founder’s Reserve. This highly symbolic release celebrated the renovation of the distillery which, having become the property of the Japanese group Suntory in 1994, was reopened in 1997, exactly 200 years after it was first founded.

Merchant

Established in Glasgow in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing, the Douglas Lang company has, in recent years, made numerous changes to its structure. Fred Laing’s movement to the head of the company has contributed towards the business’s sound reputation. Known throughout the industry for the quality and variety of its cask selection (Douglas Laing still has casks from the most prestigious distilleries: Glenfarclas, Talisker, Ardbeg, etc.), the company has expanded its already rich range that includes historic selections such as Double Barrel, Premier Barrel and Director’s Cut, with two new collections guaranteed to please connoisseurs: Single Minded and Old Particular.
