Ce single malt Glen Elgin a été distillé en 1995 et vieilli pendant 23 ans dans un fût de type hogshead. Exprimant des notes d'agrumes vives et vives complétées par des fleurs fraîches, c'est comme une brise d'été de Speyside dans votre verre. Seulement 221 bouteilles produites. Single Malts of Scotland propose une gamme de superbes single malts écossais millésimés. Chaque édition est sélectionnée avec soin parmi les fûts d’Elixir Distillers provenants des six régions de production de whisky en Ecosse. Seuls les fûts considérés comme ayant atteint la qualité et le caractère requis seront embouteillés sous le nom Single Malts of Scotland. Pour s’assurer que chacun de de ces whiskies garde ses arômes et son caractère, ils ne sont pas filtrés à froid et aucun colorant n’est ajouté.

The brand
The Glen Elgin distillery was founded in 1898, the year the Pattison brothers declared bankruptcy causing the ruin of numerous distilleries, and is located in Speyside. Its first years of production were marked by several periods of closure. A long time in the shadow of the Johnnie Walker blend, the Glen Elgin single malt was first officially bottled as part of the Flora & Fauna collection, before being released as a 12 year old at the beginning of the millennium. Independent bottlings of the malt are just as hard to find.

A wine merchant recently founded by the Singh brothers, the owners of The Whisky Exchange in the United Kingdom, Speciality Drinks offers three ranges of very different single malts. The first, Port Askaig, is composed of four bottlings of an Islay single malt, including an expression with no age statement and a 30 year old! The second, Elements of Islay, celebrates the different distilleries on the island, each easily identified by their initials. The third, simply dubbed Speciality Drinks, offers a wide selection of single malts from Scottish distilleries.
