Popularly known as Gaz Regan, Gary Regan has become an iconic figure in the world of bar-tending and American whisky. An inspired bartender, writer and mixologist, this Englishmen moved to the United States in the 1970s, where he has since created the bar scene’s most sought-after orange bitters, Gary Regan’s Orange Bitters No 6.
His recipe was inspired by a book by Charles H. Baker Jr, ‘The Gentleman’s Companion: Being An Exotic Drinking Book’, which took him from New York to Connecticut. His first somewhat ephemeral success was recipe No. 4. However, it was due to a meeting with the team at Sazerac and its CEO Marc Brown, that Orange Bitters No 6 was born, a product that has already established itself as a leader in its field.
