BARBADOS FS 2006 Navy TCRL 57%

Rhum De Melasse, , 70cl, Ref: 52178

Quantity limited to 1 bottle(s) by client.

Renowned for its spicy rums, the Foursquare distillery in Barbados offers remarkably voluptuous traditional rums first and foremost, as illustrated by this vintage bottled at cask strength. From its texture, delicately highlighted by its abundance of ripe fruits, to its zesty character and particularly gourmand palate, it dishes out quality after quality to better showcase the breadth and scope of its aromatic and gustatory palette.

Profile: voluptuous, the nose emerges as finely woody, floral and spicy. Upon airing, it becomes hot and even headier. Close to sugar cane, the palate also unleashes aromatic herbs and orange blossom. Allowed to breathe, it becomes increasingly gourmand and exotic (mango, pomegranate).

Product details

Tasting note

  • Appearance : topaz with glints of burnished gold.
  • Nose : voluptuous, tasty. Very finely woody (vanilla, oak), the initial nose is also floral (lilac, hyacinth), spicy (cinnamon, ginger), liquorice-scented and fruity (cider apple). Upon airing, it becomes hot (paprika) and headier than ever (lily, iris). Limes sit comfortably next to lime blossom honey and dark chocolate.
  • Palate : lively yet smooth. Sugar cane takes over the palate while spices and chillies burst on to the gustatory stage. Aromatic herbs (chervil, oregano), orange blossom and cocoa beans lend the mid-palate a sense of soothing peacefulness. The back of the palate is dizzyingly gourmand (Poire belle Hélène, prune flan).
  • Overall : long, silky. Fruit skin tannins (Mirabelle plum, pear, apple) are the perfect description of its soft, textured feel. Its exotic character gradually becomes more intense (mango, persimmon, pomegranate). While edging its way towards sugar cane, the retro-nasal olfaction is very slightly camphoric. The empty glass is at once heady and sweet.
The brand

Artist, Lands of Scotland, Malt Pedigree, Tartan, The Ten, Very Cloudy... all of these whisky ranges – composed of single malts and single grains – have one thing in common: they were all created by the team at La Maison du Whisky. They are the fruits of many decades of close collaboration with some of the most prestigious bottlers in Scotland. For some years the French importer and exclusive distributor of the classic ranges of well-known spirits producers, La Maison du Whisky was soon granted the very rare privilege of being able to complement these ranges with their own, bringing together two sets of expertise, two reputations and two complementary histories under one, single label.

The line
