Tasting note

  • Appearance : Argenté à reflets verts.
  • Nose : Frais, complexe. Des fruits (poire, pêche, ananas), des fleurs (muguet, jonquille), des agrumes (orange, clémentine), d’autres fruits plus exotiques (goyave, litchi) et de l’anis. L’aération donne raison aux fleurs blanches. Mai vient de commencer.
  • Palate : Ample, élégante. Sa trame est serrée, ses tannins voluptueux et ses fruits sur le point de mûrir. Leur pruine apporte du duveteux et du soyeux. Sa gourmandise est florale (violette, lavande). L’amateur aimera l’évocation avec un xérès fino.
  • Overall : Longue, douce. Une pincée de poivre est jetée sur la palette aromatique. Elle se prolonge sur du mimosa et finit par évoquer avec poésie les cerisiers en fleurs. La rétro olfaction est fruitée (abricot, pêche). Sensation crémeuse et laiteuse.

The brand

Denshu means “rice field sake” in Japanese indicating that it is made using only rice (neither alcohol nor sugar is added). Developed in 1970, this brand is highly-sought after by connoisseurs. Produced in a traditional style, placing a special emphasis on the taste and aromas of the rice, Denshu uses relatively modern brewing techniques that make it possible to closely control the rice polishing rate and fermentation temperatures. The varieties of rice used come from the region of production and all work is carried out by hand.
