- Appearance : Jaune d'or.
- The brand
Launched in 1923 under the initiative of Francis Berry, who was at the time the owner of the London company Berry Bros & Rudd, the blend Cutty Sark owes its name to the famous clipper known in the 1870s for its record speed. It was the artist James BcBey who, after a meeting, came up with the name, immediately creating a drawing of the ship that would some years later become the logo of one of the most famous blended scotch whiskies in the world. Cutty Sark was also the name given by Tam O’Shanter to a young witch who, dressed in only a short “cutty sark” shirt chased him across the Scottish moors (Tam O’Shanter, a poem by Robert Burns).
