Tasting notes
Nose : rich, concentrated. On the initial nose, iris butter, apricot stone and candied ginger began an epic battle. This staging highlights the strong personality of the Grande Champagne cru. Very stately, it reveals lots of fruit (mango, passion fruit, fig, melon, quince) once allowed to breathe. Gradually, nutmeg and coriander unleash their powerful and fresh fragrances on the aromatic palette.
Appearance : orangey copper.
Palate : both creamy and lively. The attack begins by inviting us to bit into incredibly juicy fruits (mango, orange, melon). The mid-palate then suddenly changes direction completely. Liquorice stick and root ginger now fill the entire gustatory landscape. The end of the palate is characterised by notes of forest floor (fallen leaves, cep, moss).
Overall : long, silky. Remaining remarkably fresh, the finish is like breathing in the fragrances of pine trees in a slightly salty atmosphere. Notes of plant and eucalyptus sweets reinforce its balsamic character. The retro-nasal olfaction wavers between exotic fruit (persimmon, guava), quince jelly and lime blossom. The empty glass is roasted and delicately woody (oak).
